Greetings! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Karen and I'm from Australia.
I have lived in Japan for over 7 years and have enjoyed it alot! I moved to Morinosato
(5-chome) in February 2008, and am very glad we decided to live here.
Morinosato is surrounded by nature (trees and mountains) and the perfect place to enjoy a quiet life, while still being close to all the conveniences of a small city. Coming from Perth, Western Australia, nature and big spaces are important to me.
I grew up in Australia from the age of 3. I was actually born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
My parents decided to move our family to Perth when we were little for a better life. My parents are Chinese (Malaysian-Chinese), so I ofcourse have an asian face. Many people mistake me for being Japanese. It's fun watching people's expressions when I try to explain my background.
In short, I am Chinese (from Malaysia), raised in Australia, and now living in Japan!
English is my first language, but I am also fluent in Cantonese, and know a little Japanese.
In Australia, I studied a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Marketing and Management.
I have worked for a bank, an advertising company, and then later I joined a pharmaceutical company promoting prescription medication for elderly people. All have been challenging and interesting jobs for me.
My favourite Japanese food is sushi, but I especially like all things spicy. Thai and Indian food are also my favourites. In Japan, I love going sight-seeing and also enjoy watching Sumo. I also like trying lots of different restaurants, in particular "izakaya". In Australia, I love walking along the beach and playing tennis with friends.
I came to Japan in 2003 on a working-holiday program, thinking that I would only stay about a year. Seven years later, I am still here and my only regret is not coming here sooner!
I worked as an English Teacher at ECC (in Osaka) for about 2 years. Then later, I moved to Kanagawa (to get married), and continued to work as a private English Teacher, until my kids arrived.
I have two children, a boy and a girl. Ryo is 4 and Erika is 2. They were both born in Japan.
My husband is Japanese. On weekends (when the weather is good), we often go to the park
to let the kids enjoy the sun.

カレン先生ってどんな人？
こんにちは！私自身の事を紹介させて下さいね。私の名前は、カレンです。オーストラリア出身です。
日本に住んで6年以上になります。そして、私はここが大好きです！森の里（5丁目）には、2008年の2月に
引っ越してきました。ここに住む事を決めてとても良かったです。
森の里には、自然がたくさんあって、静かな生活を送るには完璧な場所です。それと同時に便の良さもあります。
オーストラリア西部にあるパースから来た私にとって、自然が多いという事、広々としているという事は、
とても重要なことなのです。
私は、3歳からオーストラリアで過ごしました。実際に生まれたのは、マレーシアのクアラルンプールという所です。
私の両親は私がとても小さい時にパースに移住する事を決めました。両親は中国人（マレーシア系中国人）なので、
もちろん私は、アジア人の顔をしています。だから、よくたくさんの人に日本人だと間違えられます。
私が日本人でないことを説明しようとすると、みんなとても驚くので、見ていてとても面白いです。
要するに、私はオーストラリア育ちの中国人（マレーシア系）で、今は日本に住んでいます！英語は、
私の最初の言語ですが、広東語も問題なく話せますし、日本語は少しならわかります。
オーストラリアの大学では、マーケティングとマネージメントを専攻し、ビジネスの学士号を取得しました。銀行や広告代理店で働いた後、高齢者向けに医者の処方した薬を投薬することを奨励していた製薬会社で働いていました。
それら全ての仕事は私にとって挑戦であり、また興味深いものでした。
私の一番好きな日本食はお寿司ですが、特に辛いもの全般が大好物です。タイ料理やインド料理もまた大好きです。日本では、観光したり、相撲を見たりするのがとても好きです。オーストラリアでは、ビーチ沿いを散歩したり、友達とテニスをするのが好きです。
私は2003年にワーキングホリデーで、1年滞在の予定をして日本に来ました。そして、6年後の今もまだ日本にいて、少しも後悔はありませんし、これからも無いと思います。
私は、二年間、（大阪で）ＥＣＣ英会話スクールの講師として働いていました。その後、神奈川へ引っ越し、
子供ができるまでは、プライベイトで英語を教えていました。
私には、2歳半の男の子（怜）と1歳の女の子（依里香）の二人の子供がいます。二人とも日本で生まれました。
私の夫は、日本人です。（天気の良い）週末には、私達は、子どもたちを外でで遊ばせるのによく公園に行きます。
オーストラリアについてでも、日本での私の生活についてでも、英語の勉強についてでも、お教室が見たいという方
